RECOVERY COACHING

A recovery coach provides essential management, mentoring, training and counsel for the client.  Connections can provide skilled and compassionate recovery coaches to provide this essential support.

ROLE OF THE RECOVERY COACH

Recovery coaching is used often as means of post-treatment support for patients and their loved ones providing encouragement, problem-solving support, and accountability during the recovery process.  A coach helps to identify both strengths and vulnerabilities within a person or family that can impact recovery, this aiding the process with direction, structure, feedback, accountability and encouragement.  The recovery coach provides support by regular interaction via phone, text, email, Skype and in person meetings.

BENEFITS OF RECOVERY COACHING

Coaching has been shown to decrease the odds of relapse and can accomplish many objectives.  Additionally, a recovery coach can:

Ease the transition from inpatient to outpatient care.

Reinforce the skills and insights gained by the client during treatment.

Strengthen a prescribed after-care program.

Foster personal accountability and responsibility to self and others.

Educate families and colleagues about their role in the clients recovery process.

Remove family members from supervisory functions.

Help the client develop education, career and life goals.

Expedite re-entry into school and/or work.

Provide ongoing evaluations of the client's progress.

Provide third-party validation and compliance documentation.

Enhance the benefits of mutual support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous.
